Charles Barkley Washed Auburn Jersey by wearing it in the shower

Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith brought the magic of Inside the NBA on Turner’s coverage of the NCAA tournament. Throughout March Madness, the duo will be on the CBS studio show as she navigates the games rush, and it only took Barkley two game days to reveal a story about herself that no one really needed to know.
Before the matchup between Pitt and Iowa State, Barkley praised the support team that handles all the little things for the teams throughout the tournament. This is partly because he didn’t have that kind of support during Barkley’s college years, which is why the Hall of Famer inductee revealed that he showered in his jersey after street games to keep his jersey clean.
Clark Kellogg didn’t seem to like this story. Barkley was an efficient player in his day, but this level of laundry efficiency is perhaps a step too far. The method raises a few questions: Did Barkley’s Auburn teammates also use the shower wash method? Could a shower get a stain out? And where on an airliner can you dry a basketball jersey?
Hopefully someone at Auburn University gave Barkley some laundry tips—washers and dryers existed in the 1980s. Whether it’s true or not, this story would have landed for all time Inside the NBA List if he told it on the show.
