Changing consumer travel behavior is fueling interest in the STL RV Travel Show

ST. LOUIS – Some are small. Others are lush. The choices feel endless at the STL RV Travel Show.

“The beauty of RVs is that you can practically take your home or office with you wherever you want,” said Warren Patton, President of Byerly RV.

Patton says the recreational vehicle industry was gaining momentum before the pandemic. It has continued to grow since the peaks of the COVID-19 pandemic. And the interest of the younger population fuels the boom.

“I don’t want to be restricted from owning a condo anywhere or a timeshare anywhere. I want to be able to travel where I want and have that flexibility,” Patton said.

Stacey Braning and her family came from Pevely, Missouri to watch the selection at the RV Show. She says they have owned a camper in the past and hope to do so again in the future.

“We have two young girls and we like to go with them and with a motorhome you can take all your stuff with you and you don’t have to pack every time. It stays there with you,” Braning said.

Stacey tells FOX 2 there’s a certain ease to RV travel that her family has come to enjoy.

“You’re in the comfort of your own home all the time without worrying about queues or airport rush or losing your kids or your belongings,” Braning said.

“Whether just the two of you or with all the children. This model is 19 feet. It has bunk beds in it. So there is something for everyone and every price range, but also in every style, whether you want to drive it or whether you want to tow it behind your truck,” said Patton.

The STL RV Travel Shows run at America’s Center and The Dome through Sunday.
