“Celtics in 7”: Fan shows shield at the end and gets exclusive tickets for Big Game – Boston News, Weather, Sports

AMHERST, MASS. (WHDH) – A Celtics fan made a big prediction while graduating from college.

Ricky Arias walked across the UMass Amherst graduation ceremony on Saturday and held up “Celtics in 7” on his phone. He said he was inspired by a Milwaukee Bucks fan who graduated before him.

“There was a guy, I’d like to say about 10 minutes ahead of me – I had no idea who he was – and he put on ‘Bucks in 7’ and then everyone started booing. So I was like, ‘Okay, I have to get him back. I have to represent the home team,” said the new graduate. “And then my roommate calls me and he’s like, ‘Listen, you gotta do Celtics in 7’ and I was like, ‘Man, I already saved it. I do it.'”

The news earned him cheers and tickets to Sunday’s game from the president of TD Garden. Arias said he enjoyed watching the Celtics fend off elimination from a private box.
