Celtics beat 76ers after Embiid Heave failed to exit hand in time

Joel Embiid scored the most incredible shot of the 2022-23 NBA season at the end of Saturday night’s showdown between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics. The only problem for the Sixers star was when the ball didn’t leave his hand in time, giving Boston an exciting 110-107 win.
The Celtics stormed back from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter, took the lead and went up as much as 10 points in the fourth. But the Sixers had an answer, and in the final two minutes of the game, the teams passed the lead back and forth to each other. After a Jayson Tatum gave Boston a four-lead with a minute remaining, Philly managed to get to the free-throw line four times, making all of them and depriving them of a crucial stop to tie things in the waning moments .
With just over a second to go, Tatum hit a three-pointer from an inbounds game that looked like it was going to take it. And then PJ Tucker played the ball to Embiid, who dribbled, launched from the free-throw line and sent the center of Wells Fargo into a frenzy.
You can see that Embiid missed getting this out of his hand by about half a second, and even Embiid seemed to know that this was too little, too late. The umpires checked this and quickly determined that Embiid hadn’t taken it off in time, giving Boston the win.
