Cat named Mr. Spooky tries to pull papers to run for mayor of Attleboro – Boston News, Weather, Sports

ATTLEBORO, MASS. (WHDH) — Mr. Spooky the cat showed up at Attleboro City Hall on Friday to pull papers to run for mayor, but was quickly rebuffed when he was told he didn’t meet the requirements.
“The halls of City Hall looked furry today when Mr. Spooky stopped by to pull papers to run for mayor! Unfortunately, the business owner of Spooky Games and tuna enthusiast quickly learned that to run for mayor in Attleboro, you must be 18 and a registered voter,” the city wrote in a Facebook post.
“What felt like a feline atrophe quickly turned into a pawsome moment as staff inflicted some scratches on their way out. Friendly reminder: If you wish to run for mayor in this special election, you must submit your nomination papers to the elections office by January 10.”
