Cashier says they were snatched back by a police officer with a gun for money

A TikToker says a man who worked as a cashier asked why they couldn’t give him cash back from the register. When he learned that this was not possible, he asked the cashier what would happen if he came back to the store with a gun.

The TikToker says they told the man they would call the police and the man revealed he is a cop.

In the TikTok posted on Jan. 18, @bellywubs relayed the alleged incident. As of January 19, the video had nearly 500,000 views on TikTok. The Daily Dot was unable to reach @bellywubs for comment.

In a comment on their video, the TikTokers said they couldn’t give the man any money back because they didn’t have enough money in their till – and in response to his comment about his gun, @bellywubs just “laughed out.”

“Retail is a lot of fun,” they commented. @bellywubs also wrote that the story they shared on their TikTok “actually happened”.

Commenters on the @bellywubs video shared their experiences with cops.

“I was working in a grocery store and this guy showed his brand so I could process his return without a receipt,” commented @chandler.sparks. “I still denied it.”

“I had the same,” wrote @iworkisleepicry. “A guy yelled and threatened us at my work because we screwed up and then he said he was a cop.”

Others said that regardless of the man’s affiliation with the authorities, the TikToker should have called the police for threatening them.
