The driver of a sedan carrying a baby died after the car became partially wedged under a tractor-trailer near the base of the Commodore Barry Bridge in Chester, Pennsylvania on Friday morning.
The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. near Route 291 and Jeffrey Street, Delaware County police said. That’s right near the ramps for US Route 322.
The truck had come off the Route 322 exit when the sedan “impacted the side of the truck, causing the sedan to become wedged under the trailer,” Chester Police Captain Matthew Goldschmidt said in a news release.
The driver of the car died at the scene of the accident, police said. Another adult in the car and an infant in the car were treated for minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
The exact cause of the crash was still under investigation on Friday.
