Car fire burns in Boston’s O’Neill Tunnel – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — A car fire in the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston on Thursday left one car completely charred, according to video footage released by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
MassDOT shared word by the fire Just after 4:45 p.m., the fire had triggered a lane closure in the left lane of I-93 South at the time, according to MassDOT, with traffic diverted off the freeway at exit 16A.
The scene of the accident was cleared at around 5:45 p.m. with all lanes
Video from the crime scene showed crews rushing to put out heavy flames.
State police said no one was injured. MassDOT said some light fixtures in the tunnel were damaged, although they said the lights will be repaired overnight.
