Calum Scott: I want to be a father – that’s my calling

Calum Scott has been open about his plans to become a father.
In an exclusive interview with Guilty Pleasures, the No Matter What singer, 34, shared that he’s dying to have children through surrogacy.
Explaining he’ll start thinking about his life “as I get older,” Calum continued, “I’m still single. I’m still trying to find “the one”.
“I have this amazing career and I hope I will have it for the rest of my life, but what about outside of this job?
“I want to have my own family. I want to be able to do all of these things. This year I said to myself I would look at surrogacy and what that looks like and how I can start my own family. Hopefully later this year I’ll be able to sit there and make plans.’
He continued, “I’ve always had a fatherly instinct. I’ve always wanted to have children.
“We have young people in the family and I always help out. It feels a bit like a calling. I have much love to give.’
Meanwhile, the former Britain’s Got Talent contestant is looking for a pet pooch. “I was looking at doodles and cockatoos,” he smiled.
And British nominee Calum – who lost out in this year’s Best International Song category with his track “Where Are You Now” – also revealed he is recovering from a double vocal hemorrhage.
“I ruptured a blood vessel in my vocal cord and it swelled up. I was on strict vocal rest,” Calum said. He added his doctor, who also treats Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber, advised, “It’s just angry and you have to leave it alone.”
His single Whistle with Jax Jones is out now.
