BRITS feel sexiest at 53 as they care less about what people think, new research shows.

More than half of those over 50 (53 percent) say they feel more alert now than ever.

And they’re the sexiest at 53 – the age of a number of sexy celebrities, including Tess Daly, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman and Gillian Anderson.

Four in ten people over 50 (41 percent) said they felt more comfortable and confident about their appearance.

And nearly a fifth (18 percent) find dating is more zesty and exciting than when they were young.

Many go to fancy restaurants (48 percent) and fly to naughty weekends (40 percent).

About 53 percent say they now know what they want — and aren’t afraid to do it, while 40 percent have stopped worrying about how they come across.

Meanwhile, 31 per cent insist sex gets boring and ‘vanilla’ is a myth as you age – with 29 per cent claiming the notion that Brits over 50 never have one-night stands is outdated and inaccurate.

Research by over-50 dating service Ourtime also found that 35 percent disagree with the idea of ​​everyone “letting go” when they hit middle age.

Other inaccurate stereotypes about what it means to grow old are getting fat and wrinkled (44 percent) and desperate to find someone to keep them from growing old alone (34 percent).

Ourtime’s Rachel Peru said, “The older you get, the more confident you become and understand what you want.”
