Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s Coparenting Timeline

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have certainly had their ups and downs since splitting up in November 2006. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2004 and share sons Sean Preston and Jayden, have gone from feuding exes to supportive co-parents.
The DJ praised his ex-wife for seeking mental health treatment from her father Jamie Spears‘ illness in April 2019.
“Kevin commends Britney for recognizing that she needs to step back and is taking the appropriate steps to responsibly handle her situation,” Federline’s attorney said. Markus Vincent Kaplansaid The Blast.
He also agreed to take care of her children until she recovered.
However, the couple’s road to friendship was not easy. Just months earlier, the two were embroiled in a bitter feud after Federline requested an increase in child support payments.
The duo, who once avoided each other at their son Sean Preston’s baseball game, according to an eyewitness, have also feuded over custody in the past.
By 2015, however, they appeared to have temporarily overcome their differences: the reality star reminisced about his happier times with Spears Access Hollywood in March 2015. “It’s been a good time in my life,” he said, adding that their co-parenting is going “greatly.”
When Britney challenged her conservatory in a bombshell hearing six years later, Federline supported his ex-wife in a statement.
“The best thing would be if her mother were healthy and happy,” says his lawyer Markus Vincent Kaplan said in June 2021. “And if any of those things aren’t true, it doesn’t provide the best framework for exercising custody.” [Kevin] definitely respects Britney and only hopes for the best for her because when the best is achieved for her, it is the best for her children. The children love their mother and he wishes for a healthy and strong relationship.”
The lawyer added at the time: “Britney was not well served by the conservatory and it is not what she wants. I think she should be able to challenge that. And if it’s what’s best for them, Kevin supports it. … “If she is strong and healthy and wants to be in control of her own life and can do so in a sensible and responsible way, then she has more power.”
five months later, Us confirmed that Jamie believes his daughter’s conservatory should end “immediately.”
