MG has the largest Owners Club in the world which shows you how much people love this British brand at home and abroad.
But most of the cars in this club are from the days when MG made wonderful little sports cars with lots of character.
After a period of fairly average engines, things started to improve more recently when MG introduced the ZS small SUV and MG5 electric estate car.
But now the brand is really back with a bang, with the announcement of three new models that will be priced to help people make the switch to electric.
The biggest news is the MG4, unveiled this week. It’s a hatchback about the size of a VW Golf that will seat five and will be all-electric.
The MG4 will be rear-wheel drive and have a healthy 281-mile range and a tech-laden interior, but should be priced at around £25,000.
Equally exciting is the news that MG will be drawing on its heritage and launching a small two-seat sports car – but this time electrically powered.
MG unveiled a concept called Cyberster last year and had more than 5000 expressions of interest, so it plans to go ahead and make it happen.
It will be an electric rival to cars like the Mazda MX-5 and could cost less than £30,000. It’s probably coming next year.
And last but not least, MG has given its electric station wagon MG5 a general overhaul with a new look and more equipment.
Exterior styling has been revised, including new front and rear bumpers, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, and new wheel designs.
The new MG5 EV will also come with Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capability, meaning you can power other electrical devices using the energy stored in the battery, such as B. e-bikes, portable heaters or camping equipment.
Inside is a new 10.25-inch widescreen infotainment system with updated software.
The new MG5 is available now in the UK.
