Boston Police Department: Cyclist involved in collision with dump truck dies – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) – Boston police have told 7NEWS that the bicyclist involved in a collision with a dump truck on Huntington Avenue and Washington Street has died.

Officials originally said the cyclist’s injuries were “serious” but he was conscious when a rescue crew treated him at the scene on Wednesday.

The impact was so severe that the frame of the bicycle broke.

Police said there were cameras nearby that they intended to use as part of the investigation and that the dump truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

The driver is employed by K-Town Disposal, a New England-based waste disposal company.
