Boris Johnson underwent sinus surgery at London Hospital

LONDON – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson underwent sinus surgery under general anesthesia on Monday, his office said.
Johnson’s spokesman, Max Blain, said the Prime Minister was back at his home at 10 Downing Street, resting after the “routine” procedure.
He said the operation was planned in advance and carried out by medics working for the state-funded National Health Service at a London hospital.
Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab represented Johnson during the operation.
Johnson was hospitalized in April 2020 with the coronavirus in intensive care. Blain said Monday’s proceedings were unrelated to COVID-19.
Johnson, 58, will travel to Rwanda for a Commonwealth conference later this week and will attend Group of Seven and NATO summits later this month.
