Blue Alert: 2 Hermann police officers shot dead; altogether suspicious
HERMANN, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued a blue alert late Sunday night after two Hermann Police Department officers were shot dead.
The shooting took place just before 9:20 p.m. at Casey’s General Store on Block 800 of Market Street in Hermann.
Hermann is located about 75 miles west of St. Louis on the Missouri River.
State police allege Kenneth Lee Simpson was the shooter.
Simpson, 35, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has hazel eyes and red hair.
Simpson drove a black 2014 Jeep Wrangler with Missouri license plate RF5A0P.
The circumstances of the shooting were not disclosed. Nothing is known about the condition of the officers.
