A mother faces jail after killing a man in a dramatic street chase after seeing him on a stolen motorcycle.

Kerry Fair, 39, said she wanted to teach Thomas Maguire, 30, a lesson for stealing a Yamaha belonging to her daughter’s boyfriend.

She spotted him last May driving through Kingstanding, Birmingham, made a U-turn and started chasing him.

She reached speeds of up to 86 mph in a 30 zone before colliding with him.

Fair then fled the scene, exiting the car and leaving Thomas on the ground, fatally injured.

Thomas was taken to the hospital by friends, where he remained in critical condition for three weeks before succumbing to his injuries on June 9.

Fair was found guilty of manslaughter in Birmingham Crown Court yesterday and will be sentenced on March 14.

Thomas Maguire. A woman has been found guilty of manslaughter after a man suffered fatal injuries when he was thrown from a motorbike in Kingstanding, West Midlands last May. See SWNS story SWMRage. Thomas Maguire was traveling on the Kings Road on May 18 when his bike was struck by a car driven by Kerry Fair. Fair deliberately stalked the 30-year-old after being told he had stolen the motorcycle from her daughter's boyfriend's address hours earlier. Just before hitting the motorcycle, Fair was caught driving a Ford Focus at speeds between 76 and 86 mph in a 30 mph speed zone as she was chasing Thomas. Thomas was thrown from the motorcycle and Fair immediately fled the scene, leaving Thomas badly injured. She left the Focus on the side of the road, where police later discovered it with the steering lock on and the engine running. Thomas was taken to the hospital by his friends, where he remained in critical condition for three weeks. He died on June 9 as a result of his injuries. Fair's purse was found in the front door pocket and upon further investigation, she was arrested shortly after the collision. The 39-year-old, from Kingstanding, was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (March 7). Fair is due to be sentenced on Tuesday, March 14.

Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood said: “At the speed she was traveling she was at the very least reckless about the fact that Thomas would be hurt by her actions that night.

“Had Fair made an emergency stop when she realized she was rapidly gaining the bike, the collision could have been avoided entirely, which could inevitably have prevented Thomas from being injured.

“Our thoughts remain with Thomas’s family and I hope today’s verdict can bring them closure.”
