Birmingham: Arrest after a three-week-old baby was found dead in Sparkhill

A man has been arrested in Birmingham on suspicion of murdering a newborn.
The three-week-old boy was not breathing in a house in the Sparkhill area.
Officers were called to Dovey Road around 3.40am today where they made the shocking discovery.
Paramedics took the injured baby to the hospital, but nothing could be done to save him.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
A 26-year-old woman was also found injured in the same home and taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to West Midlands Police.
Inspector Neil Kirkpatrick: “This is a real tragedy and our thoughts are with everyone involved.
“We will have additional officers in the area in the coming days to provide security.”
Police are not looking for other suspects in connection with the death.
