DISNEYLAND Paris guests can finally hug their favorite characters again after two years of social distancing at the theme park.
Guests can once again hug, give high five and pose with beloved characters now that Covid restrictions have been eased.
In addition to hugs, characters will be signing autographs again, so kids can fill a book with signatures of their favorite characters as a souvenir.
A spokesman for Disneyland Paris said: “Following the latest government guidelines, we are pleased to announce that Character Experiences at Disneyland Paris will give our guests the opportunity to get closer to their favorite characters for a special moment and to hug or hug them together taking photos.
“Many Disney, Pixar and Star Wars character experiences will see this change.”
Along with the return of hugs, face masks have been scrapped at the theme park, giving guests one less thing to worry about when they visit.
The changes came just in time for the start of the theme park’s 30th birthday celebrations, which began over the weekend.
A new daily show takes place in front of the newly renovated Sleeping Beauty Castle, featuring more than 30 Disney characters and dancers on colorful floats.
The Disney Illuminations night show also has a new opening act called Disney D-Light, featuring video projections, water jets and family favorite songs.
Meanwhile, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and all their friends show off new shiny costumes created especially for the milestone.
Also, Minnie has a brand new outfit designed by Stella McCartney to celebrate the park’s birthday – her first-ever tuxedo to be worn in honor of Women’s History Month.
While hugs have returned to Disneyland Paris, they are still banned at Disney World in Florida as Covid restrictions remain in place.
