Barnstable Police: 15-year-old suspect arrested in Cape Cod Mall stabbing – Boston News, Weather, Sports

HYANNIS, MASS. (WHDH) – Barnstable Police have made an arrest following a stabbing at the Cape Cod Mall that seriously injured a 17-year-old.
In an update Tuesday, the Barnstable Police Department said a “15-year-old male juvenile” had been identified as a suspect after the stabbing in Hyannis. Authorities said the teenager was later taken into custody and held on $5,000 bail pending his arraignment in Barnstable Juvenile Court.
His arrest came after police first responded to reports of a stabbing at the mall around 4pm on Monday. Officers arriving found a 17-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his upper body and suffering from “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” that the department classified.
Police said the victim was taken to nearby Barnstable Municipal Airport and flown to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI, with what officials described as “serious but not life-threatening injuries.”
In the same update released Tuesday, the department said the victim had been treated and was expected to make a full recovery.
