Cougars open West Coast Conference play with a win

Provo • Alex Barcello scored 15 points and BYU extended its home win streak to seven by beating Pacific 73-51 on Thursday night in the West Coast Conference opener for both teams.

Fousseyni Traore scored 12 goals and won 11 rebounds for BYU (13-3, 1-0). Cougars capped the Pacific to a season low of 20 points after halftime.

Luke Avdalovic has 12 points for the Tigers (5-10, 0-1), with a losing streak stretching to 4 games. Barcello, Traore lift BYU across Pacific 73-51
