Banco Santander: Hector Grisi succeeds Jose Antonio Alvarez as CEO

Banco Santander SA announced on Friday that its chief executive officer, Jose Antonio Alvarez, would step down as of January 1, ending a seven-year tenure.

said the board had decided to appoint Hector Blas Grisi Checa as his successor.

Mr. Alvarez will remain on the board of directors as a non-executive vice chairman, Santander said.
