Babylon Bee’s editor blames promiscuous women for medium-term loss

Joel Berry, the editor-in-chief of Babylon Bee, fired off a series of tweets in response to the 2022 interim results, saying Democratic women are “wracked with guilt over abortion and wandering from partner to partner.”

The tweets, which make a slew of allegations, claim that the Democrats also stole the election and are “communist revolutionaries.”

“The Babylon Bee guy is taking it well,” wrote Aaron Fritschner, communications director for Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.).

Berry’s tirade came via a series of tweets.

“It’s not Republican messaging. They are not inferior candidates. It’s not Trump. It’s not an abortion. It’s a mass mail-in/dropbox vote,” he said, perpetuating a claim that has been repeatedly debunked. “It’s that simple. And Republicans will never win another election unless it’s stopped.”

But according to Berry, it’s the voters. And abortion.

“Unmarried women in America are lost, miserable, addicted to SSRIs and alcohol, racked with abortion debt and wandering from partner to partner. They’re the core base of Democrats now, and Democrats will do whatever it takes to make more of them,” he said.

“The sooner Republicans realize that their opponents are communist revolutionaries who worship power and will do whatever is necessary to attain it, the better. Don’t mess with these people. You’re going to kill the greatest nation on earth and we’ll have to thank your weakness for it… It’s amazing to me that this isn’t obvious to more in the Republican leadership, who prefer to point the finger and argue rather than to actually fight back the godless communist orcs who are trying to ruin this great country.”

Berry received major backlash to his tweets with a user from both left and right vocation his takes “the last, desperate gasp of patriarchy”.

“You will be shocked to find that this person has decided that the best way to deal with the loss of female voters is to say they are drunk and drugged sluts,” said one user said.

“Spitball here, but maybe that’s how Republicans talk about women, why women don’t vote for them.” said Another.

“If you get married, your SSRIs will be taken from you right away,” another joked.

Berry is just one of many Republicans grappling with dismal results for the GOP at halftime. Analysts and pundits expected a “red wave” and a rebuke from President Joe Biden, but Democrats won hard-fought races in Pennsylvania, Nevada and Arizona and seized control of the Senate.

Their House losses were also much smaller than expected, with Republicans expecting only a tiny majority.

According to CNN election polls, women made up more than half of the electorate during the midterm elections, with 53% of them voting for the Democrats.
