If you’ve watched Australian wildlife documentaries, you know not to mess with kangaroos, no matter how adorable they may look.

In fact, kangaroos are stronger than humans in every way except their arms.

One man learned this the hard way when he got into an intense fight with an eastern gray kangaroo in Ballina, New South Wales.

Details of how the brawl began are unclear, as footage of the dramatic fight begins with the man sprinting away from the kangaroo.

The man fell to the ground while running and the animal jumped in front of him.

A dog can be seen in the footage, but it’s not clear if the man is his owner or if he’s trying to protect him.

Luckily, the man managed to get to his feet and grab a stick, which he used as a makeshift weapon, before the kangaroo turned around again.

But the tall beast walked straight at his opponent, completely unmolested by the stick.

The pair then started boxing each other, landing one hard punch after another.

Somehow the man tripped the kangaroo and brought it to the ground. He had to use all his body weight to keep the animal down.

It’s not known if the man was seriously injured or what happened next, but the kangaroo looked subdued at the end of the video.

Kangaroos are generally quite docile but can become aggressive if threatened.

That’s when they get dangerous, as they have about 759 pounds of kick power, about 275 pounds of punch power, and up to 925 PSI bite power.

This bite force is roughly the same as that of a grizzly bear and is six times the force that a human can exert.

The weight and size of kangaroos mean that their punches are as powerful as a human’s.

Kangaroos are a type of marsupial—animals born underdeveloped so they can grow in their mother’s pouches.

There are four types of kangaroos – the red, the eastern gray, the western gray and the antelope.
