Monaco ace Aurelien Tchouameni has opened the door to leaving the club this summer amid ties Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 22-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, having become a France international since joining the Monaco first-team.
Liverpool have reportedly started talks with Tchouameni’s representatives over a move to Anfield this summer, while Erik ten Hag believes the Frenchman would give United’s midfield some much-needed energy and legs.
And while the France international is open to staying at Monaco, he says there are no guarantees as to what may happen in the transfer window.
“I have a contract with Monaco until 2024 with an option until 2025, we’ll see what the future brings,” said Tchouameni.
“A lot of things can happen in the transfer windows. There’s my case and that of other players, some at the end of their contract, others with interests elsewhere. We focus on Lille.
‘We’re going on vacation and when we come back we’ll see who they’ll be when we get back. Why not stay and play Champions League?
“The elimination in the preliminary round against Shakhtar stuck in my throat. Playing in the Champions League with Monaco is nothing I dislike.”
Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic will leave United at the end of the season when their contracts expire.
At Anfield in July, James Milner is out of contract and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin could be sold.
