Attorney General Resigns and Takes Job at Gaming Company – Boston News, Weather, Sports

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) – Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan announced Friday that he is stepping down this month to accept a position at online gaming company Roblox.
Donovan, a Democrat, was first elected attorney general in 2016. He was previously a prosecutor in Chittenden County.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Vermont as an elected officer for the past 16 years,” he said in a statement, adding that the Attorney General’s office has “a strong team to carry out its duties to.” Protecting Vermonters” pending the swearing-in of the next Attorney General.
He accepts a position as director of US state public policy and strategy at Roblox, a company based in San Mateo, California. He will remain in Vermont and his resignation will be effective at the close of business on June 20th.
“While this is a difficult decision, I am pleased that this new role will allow me to further advance consumer protection,” said Donovan. “I will continue to advocate for children, young people and their families as I learn more about new trends and technologies and build in safeguards.”
