AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine receives EU approval for third doses
AstraZeneca PLC announced on Monday that its Covid-19 vaccine has been approved as a third booster dose for adults in the European Union.
The pharmaceutical company said its Vaxzevria vaccine can now be used as a third booster dose in patients who have previously received a vaccination schedule of either Vaxzevria or other EU-approved vaccines.
“Although more than 65% of the world’s population has received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, ensuring that people receive both their first vaccination schedule and the third dose booster dose remains a significant challenge and healthcare professionals now have more flexibility when choosing the vaccine,” said AstraZeneca.
