Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to sign at least one new striker this summer to compensate for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure in January, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could also leave when their contracts expire at the end of June.
The Gunners wasted little time and have already started talks to sign Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
But Sparta Prague striker Hlozek is also reportedly on Arsenal’s radar as a cheaper option this summer.
The 19-year-old has risen rapidly in Czech football since making his debut for Sparta at the age of 16, scoring 40 goals in 131 games.
Hlozek, who has played 12 senior games for the Czech Republic, can play in several front-line positions, is strong in the air and a clinical finisher with both feet.
Speaking about Hlozek’s development earlier this season, Rosicky, who has played almost 250 games for Arsenal and is now Sparta’s sporting director, said the 19-year-old forward is already the best player in the Czech top-flight and hinted that the club will do so ready to sell this summer.
“I don’t want to put an absolute burden on a boy that young,” Rosicky said.
“He managed the attack very well for everything he’s been up to lately. He’s very productive, whether it’s goals or assists.
“I say he’s clearly the best player in the league because I know it won’t do anything to him because he’s so grounded.
“I think he’ll score even more goals than he does now.
“We don’t want to lose Adam, we are ready to talk about his possible departure in the summer.”
However, Arsenal may need to hurry as Germany’s Sport1 claim Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a €22m (£18.7m) deal with Sparta to sign Hlozek.
The report claims that the striker has also agreed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga club.
