Arsenal bid for Raphinha rejected as winger prefers Chelsea move | Soccer

The Gunners completed a £34m deal for Fabio Vieira on Tuesday and are looking to follow that up with a move for Raphinha.
However, Arsenal face stiff competition with Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham also interested in the 25-year-old.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal have made a formal offer for Raphinha but the offer is “hands down” by Leeds as it falls far short of their valuation.
The report also claims that the Brazil international would prefer a move to Chelsea should he decide to remain in the Premier League.
Raphinha’s overall preference remains Barcelona but although the Spanish club have already agreed personal terms with the winger, the Spanish club are constrained by their finances and are looking to sack players first.
Raphinha, who joined Leeds from Rennes in a £17m deal in 2020, has two years left on his current contract.
It’s understood Leeds have a £50million fee in store for the Brazil international.
Raphinha was Leeds’ star last season as his 11 goals played a key role in the club avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
The winger would have been available for £30million this summer if Leeds had fallen back into the Championship.
