Armie Hammer’s ex-wife speaks out on ‘heartbreaking’ claims

The Discovery+ documentaries House Hammer tells the story of the wealthy and notorious Hammer family, including actors Armie Hammer and the allegations of sexual abuse against him that surfaced last year. Considering the show’s subject matter, it would be a difficult task for almost anyone, let alone someone who has been in a relationship with the star. But Hammer’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, counts herself on and a new interview with E! News, she called watching the series “heartbreaking” and said she was “surprised” by some things she heard. Chambers and Hammer, who have been married since 2010, announced their split in July 2020 by posting the same statement on their personal Instagram accounts, as reported by persons.

“Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents,” the statement said. “It’s been an incredible journey, but together we decided to turn the page and move on with our marriage. As we move into this next chapter, our children and our relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. “

Earlier this month, the documentaries House Hammer Premiered on Discovery+. It addresses the allegations against Hammer that have surfaced since 2021, including a claim of rape and allegations of other non-consensual sexual activity, abuse and sharing violent fantasies in text messages. The docuseries also looks at the powerful and wealthy Hammer family as a whole, including Hammer’s great-grandfather, an oil tycoon Armand Hammer.

Hammer has denied the claims about his lawyer. In response to allegations of rape by a woman claiming to be Effiehis lawyer said (via Reuters), “Mr Hammer has maintained from day one that all his interactions with [Effie]— and, by the way, every other sexual partner of his — were fully consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually involved.

In a new interview with E! News, Chambers said she watched House Hammeralthough she didn’t originally intend to.

“I wasn’t planning on seeing it, but one day I was taking the kids to school and I came home and I looked at it with my support system around me,” Chambers said. “It was obviously heartbreaking and very painful on so many levels. But at the same time it exists. The past is the past and all we can do is take this as a moment to learn and listen and hopefully process and heal everyone’s capacity.”

When asked if she was surprised by anything she saw on the show, she replied, “I was definitely surprised, but I guess that’s to be expected.”

Chambers also said she was approached about participating in the docuseries, but the producers turned it down. “They came forward, but in this process, only the children and our family are important and important, and that wasn’t in line with my goals for them,” she explained.

Chambers told E! News that her and Hammer’s divorce is ongoing. The former couple have two children together, aged seven harpers and five year old ford. The TV host and owner of BIRD Bakery said in the interview that she and Hammer are working to raise their children together.

“We’re totally committed to our kids and being together for our kids in a non-romantic way as much as we can,” she said. “Children need their mother, children need their father. So there’s nothing we wouldn’t do.” She continued, “We’re in constant communication and all that matters is that he’s the best father to our kids. He’s obviously processing everything else that he’s personally involved with — and that’s his own journey now.” As reported by E!
