Arizona gas station owners are slashing prices to ‘help our customers’.

OWNERS of a Phoenix gas station called CK Food Mart have slashed gas prices to help drivers affected by rising fuel costs.

The station lowered the cost of unleaded gasoline to $4.99 per gallon, which is about 70 cents a gallon cheaper than the city average.

Most cars have an average tank size of 12 gallons, with a smaller percentage of vehicles holding a 16 gallon tank.

If we apply the CK Food Mart gas station’s average fuel discount of 70 cents, you’ll see that the station saves drivers up to $12 on gas, Newsweek reports.

CK Food Mart is run by a couple named Jaswinder Singh and Ramandeep Kaur.

The couple have slashed gas prices by about 70 cents a gallon over the past four months from the county average, azcentral reports.

Singh said, “We’re trying to help our customers, our neighborhood, our community so they can save some money so they can spend that money on something else, like food, lunch and dinner,” reports Fox.

Singh and Kaur are practicing Sikhs who see their community’s reactions to the rebate as a blessing.

Singh said the positive response the channel received was: “More important than money. Money that we can earn later. Right now we know the situation is pretty tight and people need to save money.”

Singh and Kaur only take debit and cash payments at their Phoenix gas station on the corner of 20th Street and Osborn Road.

The leading duo have had to switch to debit and cash payments after receiving too many chargebacks, azcentral reports.

Today’s national average for a gallon of regular gas is $4,995, up from $3,069 last year, AAA reports.
