Arby’s worker shows how to make the Greek top

An Arby’s employee has gone viral on TikTok for showing customers how the chain’s Greek gyro is made.

TikTok user Kyiah (@kyiahleta) posted the video on February 5th. As of February 8, the video received nearly 60,000 views.

TikTok featured Kyiah’s colleague Chastity Lane, the manager of her Arby’s store in Thompson, GA.

Lane began her demonstration by grabbing a slice of flatbread and a small container of meat strips.

“To speed up my process, I microwaved them both at the same time,” she said. Then she microwaved the pita with the paper container with the pre-portioned gyros meat on top.

After Lane got the food ready to cook, she took out a piece of wrapping paper and turned it to the “Greek side”. Next, she grabbed gear to put on top of it. “Here’s a lettuce, two tomatoes, two onions, put my Greek seasoning in here,” she said.

Lane danced a bit while waiting for things to finish cooking in the microwave. When they were done, she picked up the pita in one hand and the meat in the other. To speed things up, Lane placed the pita on the paper, squirted tzatziki sauce onto it, and added the veggies over it with one hand while holding the meat in the other. Then she placed the meat on the sandwich, which she finished off with a “Greek seasoning.”

“Shake, shake, shake and bake. Shake and bake baby,” she said while seasoning.

Finally, Lane placed the top in the corner of the newspaper and wrapped it up.

“And we have the Greek. bam! Arby’s 6736, baby,” she said.

In the comments, many viewers shared that the Greek Gyro is their favorite Arby menu item.

“This was the meal that made me fall in love with Arbys, they always eat so fresh!” wrote one viewer.

“The Arbys Greek Gyro is THE best gyro I have ever had. Even from authentic Greek restaurants,” wrote a second.

“Best on the menu,” added another.

Some viewers complimented Lane on how she made the sandwich.

“That’s a Gahdamn pro right there!” A user applauded.

“This looks so good and you did it [love]’ praised another.

However, others had problems with Lane’s process.

“Bottom of the container on the pitas? absolutely not,” wrote one viewer.

“Not the meat container on the bread,” repeated a second.

“They just let you lay this [pita] Bread in the microwave so with [no] Platte?” another questioned.

One user even wrote that he “regrets” knowing how the gyroscope is made.

In response, Kyiah commented, “It’s good meat though.” She added, “Everything else on the menu is cooked in our fat or thinly sliced[nd] portioned.”

The Daily Dot contacted Kyiah via TikTok comment and Arby via email for more information.
