Even so, they are not indestructible and if you don’t take care of them, they will die out sooner or later.

In extreme cases, they can even overheat and damage your Apple device.

However, people make charging errors with their iPhones every day.

Luckily, we’ve put together a series of tips to help you save your battery and improve charging in minutes.

Do not use your phone while charging

We’re all guilty of using our iPhone while it’s connected to the charger, but that can be extremely damaging to the battery.

Studies have found that using your phone while it’s charging can not only decrease battery life, but can also interrupt the charging cycle.

This is especially the case when you’re playing a game or watching videos on your phone, which are considered processor-intensive tasks.

Don’t charge all the way

One of the biggest things people do wrong with their iPhones is leaving them on the charger for long periods of time — like overnight.

In fact, it is often recommended not to fully charge the iPhone.

Studies have shown that charging your iPhone’s lithium-ion battery to 100 percent actually damages it.

This, in turn, shortens its lifespan, so you end up paying fewer fees overall.

Long-term charging can also cause the battery to overheat, which can damage your phone.

While data varies on what percentage you should aim for, the general consensus in this case seems to be the lower the better.

Many seem to think that 80 percent is the number you should aim for when charging your phone, as higher battery voltage requires higher voltage.

Stop turbocharging

Fast or “turbo” chargers might seem like a lifesaver, but they’re probably doing more harm than good when it comes to your phone’s battery.

To put it in layman’s terms, turbo phone chargers work by increasing the number of watts (W) delivered to a phone’s battery.

This increases the voltage used by the phone’s battery while also heating it up – two factors that shorten its lifespan.

While we can’t deny that phone turbo chargers are handy, they should only be used for short periods of time and only when your phone’s battery is less than 50 percent.

Also, you should never leave your phone plugged into a turbocharger overnight.

Don’t charge your phone when it’s hot

It is important not to charge your phone while the device is hot.

That means if you’ve just used your phone for a big gaming session or to binge-watch Netflix, you shouldn’t immediately plug it into the charger.

Experts from Tech News Today explained: “Most people tend to charge their phones as soon as they finish a massive battery drain session. This shortens battery life and can also cause hardware damage.”

The same goes for charging your iPhone on a hot summer day while it’s in direct sunlight.

Hot weather can significantly overheat a device, and charging only makes the problem worse.
