Apple introduces the INCREDIBLE “next generation” CarPlay smartphone mirroring that will take over any screen in your car

APPLE has revealed what the next generation of its popular in-car smartphone mirroring will look like.

With the update, mirroring technology will give drivers even more control over their car’s functions, taking over every screen.

As cars get more and more screens inside, Apple is taking its chance to control them all

The CarPlay announcement, unveiled during the annual World Wide Developer Conference, was bundled with information about Apple’s latest iOS operating system, which also runs iPhones and iPads.

Apple said: “The next generation of CarPlay goes even further by being deeply integrated into a car’s hardware.

“CarPlay will be able to deliver content to multiple in-vehicle screens, creating a unified and consistent experience.

Until now, CarPlay has mostly featured on cars’ central infotainment screens and included a limited set of apps like music, phone, and navigation.

As more cars add multiple screens inside, Apple is clearly jumping at the chance to branch out and take over the driver’s entire digital experience.

Apple continued, “Deeper integration with the vehicle will allow users to control things like the radio or change the climate directly through CarPlay, and using the vehicle’s data, CarPlay will seamlessly track speed, fuel level, temperature and more.” play clusters on the instrument.

“Users can personalize their driving experience by choosing different instrument cluster designs, and with added support for widgets, users have at-a-glance weather and music information right on their car’s dashboard.”

That means everything you see inside is Apple’s iOS – on the central infotainment screen, on the digital dials and third screens, which on some models are sometimes located elsewhere on the dash or in front of the passenger.

Apple expects the new version of CarPlay to launch in late 2023.

You need a compatible car released around the same time to use the new mirroring.

Cars from manufacturers such as Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Porsche, Nissan, Infiniti, Ford, Lincoln, Volvo, Polestar, Honda, Acura, Renault and Audi will feature the new technology.
