Antonio Conte lashes out at ‘lucky’ Thomas Tuchel on social media | Soccer

Although he said he wanted to put an end to their fight, Antonio Conte quickly reignited his feud with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel in a message shared on social media after the game.
The two managers met at Stamford Bridge on Sunday after Tottenham came twice from behind to seal a 2-2 draw deep in added time thanks to Harry Kane’s header.
Chelsea angered the referee in the game when Tuchel claimed both a foul on Kai Havertz earlier in the game before Spurs’ first equalizer and an offside on goal, with Richarlison appearing to cloud Edouard Mendy’s view.
Tuchel’s protests, coupled with Conte’s celebrations, sparked a heated encounter on the touchline, earning both coaches yellow cards.
Then, before Kane’s late header, Chelsea felt Cristian Romero should have been penalized for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, although VAR investigated the incident and decided it wasn’t a serious foul.
At full-time, Conte and Tuchel went to shake hands but the Chelsea boss wouldn’t let go of his rival manager’s hand and motioned for him to look him in the eye, leading to another scuffle as both managers gave their marching orders received.
While Tuchel was happy to talk about the altercation – he said he wanted to “look each other in the eye” during the handshake, Conte was evasive in his post-match interview with Sky Sports, insisting he only wanted to talk about the game.
But his mind clearly changed after returning home and uploading a video of Tuchel running right out of his technical area, past Conte and the Spurs dugout and along the touchline after Reece James made it 2-1 would have.
The Spurs boss had his head bowed as Tuchel walked past him and the Italian wrote on Instagram: “Luckily I didn’t see you… It would have been well deserved to make you trip.”
While Conte didn’t want to dwell on the handshake gate for too long in hindsight, he made it clear that he felt Tuchel had been the attacker – and perhaps therefore the only one deserving of a red card.
“To be honest, the referee showed me a red card, but he didn’t understand the dynamic of what was happening,” said Conte.
“But it’s okay, I have to accept, but I repeat, it’s not a big problem. It’s not important. The problem is between me and the other coach, not the others.
“Surely there is a video to understand what happened. I’m definitely not passive. When I see aggressiveness, my answer is aggressiveness, but I repeat, that’s not a problem. The most important thing is that the game was a great game with two teams in which there is a great rivalry.
