Anonymous caller threatens shooting at Salem Middle School – Boston News, Weather, Sports

Salem, Mass. (WHDH) – Salem Police Department is dispatching officers to Collins Middle School after receiving anonymous threats against the school.

Police tweeted that the department received multiple anonymous 911 calls early Friday morning that contained multiple false reports of gunshots being fired and profanity. The same caller also said he would stage a shooting at Collins.

Although the department did not find the threat credible, there will be a police presence in Collins for the day. The department had already strengthened safety protocols at Salem schools following national events.
