Animals: Dog flies business class and lives a life of luxury
A pet owner bought her dog a business-class plane ticket – and has a message for all haters.
Fifi the Miniature Dachshund rode in style and comfort aboard a recent 11 hour flight from Hong Kong to Istanbul.
While people in the inn stretched and ached after the long journey, Fifi was pampered, fed and given her own bed to stretch out her little paws on.
After all the relaxation, she quickly fell asleep as the plane departed for Turkey.
The cute video prompted some social media users to question whether pets are allowed to fly business class.
Fifi’s owner Helen thinks they should have the chance, likening the pup to being like her “daughter”.
She decided to post a video on her Instagram after facing backlash over Fifi’s travel expenses.
Her post read, “This is for all the haters out there,” which shows Fifi reclined in business class.
Helen lashed out at the people she labeled “non-pet owners,” saying: “I don’t think non-pet owners really get it.
“This isn’t just a dog…this is my daughter.”
While many commented on how well Fifi behaved during the flight, others raised concerns.
One user wrote: “I’m not a hater – I just grew up where the cost of a dog in first grade could feed a few hundred starving kids, get them clean clothes and maybe literally save lives, so this is tough.” for me to see.’
Considering the pet’s seemingly privileged lifestyle, Helen is quick to point out that Fifi actually has a job and is a certified therapy dog.
But with this certification comes great freedom to travel, giving it certain privileges compared to other dogs.
For example, Fifi doesn’t need a passport to travel. But she must abide by other strict laws before leaving a country.
Helen wrote on Instagram: “The documents required to fly with a dog in the cabin depend on which airline you are flying with and where you are flying from and to.”
In general, pet owners must provide a rabies vaccination card, microchipping, parasite treatment, rabies test results and an animal health certificate.
Upon arrival in Istanbul, Fife was greeted like a celebrity A-lister as the dog was wheeled through the airport to its final destination.
As a dog’s life goes, the pet leads a privileged and wealthy lifestyle, with other posts showing her dressed in designer accessories and posing on some of the best beaches in the world.
