America’s least “glamorous” big city is right here in Utah

West Valley City is last in this ranking; Salt Lake City ranks 42nd out of a list of 200 cities.

A Utah city features prominently in a ranking of America’s Most Glamorous Places, although that’s not exactly good.

West Valley City is last on a list of 200 US cities.

LawnStarter, an outdoor home services company, compared the 200 largest cities in the United States using six categories broken down into 39 “glam factors.” The metrics include the number of million-dollar homes, Michelin-star restaurants, cosmetic surgeons, luxury jewelry stores, and exclusive yacht clubs.

Not surprisingly, West Valley City doesn’t score well in any of these categories. There are no yacht clubs on Decker Lake. It ranked 105th in clubs, 188th in status and wealth, and 176th in fine dining.

The only other Utah location on the list is Salt Lake City, which did not place in the top 1% but did place in the top 21% at 42nd and 105th in clubs.

LawnStarter collected data and grouped it into six categories – Status and Wealth, Clubs, Fine Dining, Beauty, Fashion and Entertainment. Weighted scores were then calculated for each city in each category, and the scores for each city were averaged across all categories.

New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and Chicago top the list of the most glamorous cities. And at the bottom of West Valley City are cities in Michigan, Connecticut and Texas.
