All clear after evacuation of Fort Lauderdale school due to shooting threat

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning over a shooting threat, authorities confirmed.

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the school was located at 1600 NE Fourth Ave. immediately locked while officers cleared each building.

“So far, nothing suspicious has been found,” the police department confirmed on Twitter. “We are investigating the source and legitimacy of the threat.”

Police confirmed just after 10.30am that the lockdown had been lifted.

Further details were not immediately released.
