Alexandre Lacazette warned Arsenal must continue to focus on difficult ground to avoid losing confidence as they chase for a place in the top 4.

Arsenal clinched a dramatic 2-1 win over Wolves at the Emirates on Thursday night, coming from behind with Lacazette forcing an own goal to seal the victory in injury time.

The win moves the Gunners up to fifth, now just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United with two games in hand.

“We really wanted to win today because we knew it was important to be on top of the table,” Lacazette told Amazon Prime after the late win.

‘So after conceding the first goal it was a tough game but we didn’t give up until the end and this is good for the team. “

No longer committed in Europe and having been knocked out of the FA Cup, Arsenal can focus solely on the race for the top four with the club also three points ahead of West Ham and six points ahead of Tottenham.

However, Lacazette has warned ‘confidence can drop very quickly’ on the young Gunners side with the captain eager for the team to stay focused.

“It gives us a lot of confidence but we also have a young team so confidence can drop very quickly,” he said.

So that’s why we have to keep working every day in training sessions.

‘We trust the coach on this and we listen to him every day. So we hope at the end of the season we’ll finish top 4.’
