Albuquerque parents catch baby suspected of being carnivores

The Coronado Center food court became the scene of a New Year’s Day wits as a father waited to confront a man who was trying to have sex with his underage daughter.

Albuquerque police spelled it all out in the criminal complaint. A local man started looking through his 12-year-old daughter’s phone. He is said to have discovered text messages and nude images exchanged between his son and a contact number saved as “B.”

Police said “B” was later identified as David Munoz – texts allegedly show the two planned to meet after school on January 5 to have sex.

The child’s parents are said to have texted Munoz – pretending to be her and set a time to meet at the Coronado Center food court

On Saturday, parents take their daughter to the food court and wait at another table.

Police said Munoz came – spoke to the girl, then tried to leave the mall with her. That’s when her parents intervened – arresting Munoz – and called 911.

But investigators say this is not the first time Munoz has been caught trying to have sex with a minor. In 2014, Munoz appeared before a jury to face two counts of sex with a minor and one count of sexual penetration – but those charges were dropped because both alleged victims were refused to testify.

Munoz is currently in the Bernalillo County jail – he is expected to appear in court on Monday, when it will be known if the district attorney requested pretrial detention.
