who lives here

Aimee Tarulli, stylist and founder of Archer Interiors, her husband Frank, a director of Thomas Archer Homes, and their children Leo, 9, and Rosie, 7.

What we have done

“Frank and I found an unlivable house on the best street, tore it down, and then built a house that perfectly suited our lifestyle,” says Aimee.

my favorite room

“The formal lounge, as I love the mix of wall textures and the sunken floor,” says Aimee. “It grabs your attention as soon as you walk in the front door.”

The hood

“We’re close to the beach and there are excellent cafes within walking distance – there’s a great buzz here,” says Aimee.

future plans

“We are planning another build in Bayside Melbourne and hope to be able to do it all again soon.”

Best advice

“Don’t think that you can’t have nice furniture because you have kids,” says Aimee. “If you are clever in your choice of fabrics and materials, now you can enjoy whatever you want.”

“We reserve the main dining area for special occasions like dinner parties,” says Aimee. “It always feels special to sit there.” The dining room chairs are from Zuster. Recognition:Armelle Habib

“I wanted to create a'gallery' feel in the hallway. It's a great place to hang big statement art,” says Aimee. The great work of art is by George Raftopoulos.
