They arrived at about 12:40 and left the restaurant at 5:27 a.m., Curry’s father, former good shooter Charlotte Hornets Dell Curry, also joined the group to celebrate the historic moment.

Curry hit a pair of three-pointers in the first quarter of Tuesday’s game against the Knicks to dethrone Hall of Fame guard, Ray Allen, who hit 2,973 3-pointers. Curry finished the contest with 2,977 shots on target. Allen needed 1,300 NBA games to hit that record; Curry played just 789 regular games during the season.

Curry ended the night with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists. He shot 14 3-pointers and made five as the Warriors beat the Knicks 105 to 96 in front of a starry crowd.

After the game, Curry discussed the moments leading up to the historic shot.

“I did the first in the transition,” he says. “Then, like the next two or three properties, I got the ball falling and I could see everyone at the end of that stadium starting to slowly get up and it was like a humming. So I don’t want to rush because that’s when you have to think and try to like compulsively at this point.

“How it happened: [Andrew Wiggins] out of the screen, I’m back to the 3 point line. I don’t think I got the ball. He hit me. I don’t think about anything. I just let it go. Then the emotions started to flare up. So I just wanted to let it come. It was a pretty special moment.” After a record-breaking night, Stephen Curry splits up in NYC with Kevin Durant
