AFL News 2023: Stephen Silvagni joins St Kilda as new list manager

St Kilda have appointed blues great Stephen Silvagni as list manager to reinforce his attempt to improve the list through draft, trade and free agency.
St Kilda have appointed Stephen Silvagni as their new list manager.
Silvagni, who held the role at GWS from 2011-2014 and then at Carlton from 2015-19, was announced Friday as James Gallagher’s successor.
It marks a return to the Saints from Silvagni, who was Ross Lyon’s assistant there from 2007 to 2010.
He will support Footy Division veteran Graeme Allan, who has been appointed as St Kilda’s new Head of Talent and Acquisition, and will also work closely with National Recruiting Manager Chris Toce.
Allan has been an advisor to the club’s football program since late 2018.
Saints chief executive Simon Lethlean said the duo will bring significant experience to their roles.
“Stephen will be focused on developing the club’s overall roster strategy while also supporting Graeme and the broader recruitment team in identifying and acquiring talent as the club seeks to strengthen and develop its roster,” Lethlean said.
“St. Kilda has seen significant changes to its playlist over the last four years and to ensure the program has every opportunity to thrive now and in the future we must continue to invest in our recruitment strategy and focus on attracting more elite talent , whether by trade or enlistment.”
Gallagher left the Saints last month after four seasons in the role.
Allan and Silvagni officially start on February 15th.
