There is nothing more beautiful in the world than seeing Adele play in London.
When she went to Hyde Park’s BST (and looked absolutely stunning) the pressure was on – she hasn’t played a headline concert in a year and a half – but as she looked out over the thousands of people singing along to her hit song Hello, she was instantly At home.
She delivered nothing short of perfection throughout the two-hour spectacle, and while her singing would always be elsewhere, it was her genuine joy of being back on stage that made the evening so special.
Bursting into tears during the opening lines, the superstar’s joy was palpable as she told the audience, “I’m so happy to be here.” It seemed like an understatement for a night of laughter and tears.
She mixed it with newer hits like “I Drink Wine” before throwing it back for “I’ll Be Waiting” and “Rumor Has It.”
The crowd, which included celebs like Tom Cruise, Ant and Dec and James Corden, as well as their beloved nine-year-old son Angelo, absolutely loved Skyfall before acting it out for Send My Love (To Your New Lover).
Of course, while she gave us totally flawless vocals, she chatted to the crowd like anyone’s best friend.
Giving us a rare glimpse of what she’s been up to, she shared her love for Billie Eilish (“I wanted to go to Glastonbury but I went to see Billie Eilish at the O2. She was flawless”) and admitted she will be . up all night to enjoy the new episodes of Stranger Things.
It was one of the first times she performed her single “Easy On Me” live and she gave us absolute perfection before letting everyone hug her loved ones for “Make You Feel My Love”.
But one of the most touching moments – and perhaps one of the most unforgettable for her – came when the superstar was overcome with emotion as he heard fans singing back her iconic hit Someone Like You. Hand on heart, she blinked back tears as she got back to where she belongs.
Set Fire To The Rain was punctuated by incredible pyrotechnics and the star thanked everyone again, leaving us with Rolling In The Deep, When We Were Young and Love Is A Game.
Once again, Adele has proven that there is no one like her. She is undoubtedly one of the best live performers in the world and after 14 years as a superstar she just keeps getting better.
Adele, we can’t wait to see you again.
