The world demanded it, and our merciful God the Sandman gave in. yes thanks to Unpolished gemsAdam Sandler plays more dramatic roles (and wants to make it better those as The shoemaker or men, women and children, thank goodness) and its latest feature is coming to Netflix soon. It’s called Hurry, and it features Sandman as a 76ers scout pinning his hopes on a long-term candidate from Spain. We saw how well Sandler shared the screen with the likes of Kevin Garnett and Shaq, and now we’ll see him join the Utah Jazz’s Juancho Hernangomez. Netflix released the trailer for the movie earlier on Tuesday, and we have to admit: we’re suckers for decent sports drama and even bigger suckers for Sandler.
Have a look:
Here’s a summary that surprisingly has more characters than a tweet! Is Netflix now paying people by word? Who knows:
“Stanley Sugerman’s (Adam Sandler) love of basketball is unparalleled, but the travel-weary Philadelphia 76ers scout with higher aspirations of becoming a coach remains on the road in search of the next unknown talent. His quest around the world takes him to Spain, where he discovers Bo Cruz (NBA player Juancho Hernangómez), an incredible streetball player with a colorful past. Stanley and Bo connect on and off the court with their passion for the game and as loving fathers of families who want to prove they can win, at basketball and in life. With the support of Stanley’s wife, Teresa (Queen Latifah), can the underdogs come out on top?”
Hurry will be released on Netflix on June 8th. That’s a pretty good reward for Juancho Hernangomez considering Jazz was knocked out of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks a few weeks ago. He won’t be home for the finals – he’ll be somewhere on a red carpet that’s almost as good as a ring. Nearly.
