“We are a family of 4 now,” the couple wrote via Instagram on Saturday, Oct. 1. “We welcomed little πŸ’™charlieπŸ’™ were born last month and have been sucking up newborn stuffed animals ever since! We are so thankful to God for this precious gift!”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, announced Abbie’s second pregnancy on Mother’s Day. “To the little girl who calls me Mommy and our little boy who is due in late summer, I will love you forever! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– #Mother’s Day,” the couple said in a post on the couple’s shared Instagram account in May. In the sweet snaps, the then-pregnant reality TV graduate rocked her growing belly and held hands with 2-year-old daughter Grace.

Ahead of the birth of baby #2, the Arkansas native hosted a baby shower with friends and family. β€œI had so much fun celebrating the little boy this weekend! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™,” Abbie captioned a series of photos in August, with one picture of her posing in front of a blue balloon arch.

The former TLC personality followed suit Jill Duggar, Jana Dugger, Joy Anna Duggar, Kendra Duggar, Lauren Dugar and Katey Duggar. “Happy birthday @johnandabbie,” Jill, 31, commented on an Instagram Story photo from the party, where she stood next to her sister-in-law. “I loved celebrating the baby today!”

Us weekly previously broke the news in January 2020 that John David and Abbie were welcoming their first child. “Our lives changed forever with the arrival of our little girl,” the duo gushed in a statement to Us. β€œShe is a wonderful gift from God. We are so blessed that the Lord gave them to us. It’s still surreal to know that we really are parents, but it’s a great new adventure that we’re looking forward to together.”

Weeks later, the new parents gave up Us a look at how they “settled” into life at home with Baby Grace. β€œMom and baby are doing well and we are very much in love with them! It was also so nice to get good advice and help from our families,” shared John David and Abbie exclusively Us. “We are grateful for all the support they have shown us in this new and wonderful phase of our lives.”

Since the arrival of their daughter, the couple has often shared their milestones with their fans via social media. β€œCelebrating her 1st year was so much fun! πŸ₯³,” the proud parents captioned an Instagram carousel of birthday party pictures in January 2021. The toddler wore a white shirt with ‘one’ written on the front in gold letters and a matching gold party hat as she dug into a chocolate frosted cake.

Abbie has remained relatively private about her second pregnancy, but her first didn’t go entirely smoothly. In October 2019 the Count on Former described Abbie’s struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum.

“It hit her hard and she was out of action for probably seven weeks with severe morning sickness,” John David said exclusively Us at the time, adding that his wife was “taken to the hospital a couple of times” early in her pregnancy. β€œWe made several visits to the ER for dehydration. … She couldn’t eat, not much, or drink, or anything. So she was actually on IVs and had IVs at home. So that was a pretty scary time.”

the previous 19 children and counting Star was infatuated with Abbie as much as she could during her health struggle. “I’ll fill up her water and snacks for her,” he explained. β€œI make sure she eats and just feels good. Anything I can get her, I try. I run to the store [get] Whatever she needs, just make her feel as comfortable as possible when she’s down.” Abbie Duggar gives birth to second baby with John David Duggar
