A standoff ensues after a person shoots at Ballwin police officers

BALLWIN, Mo. — Ballwin police are locked in a standoff with an individual who they allege brandished a gun and then fired at officers during a pursuit.
The standoff is on Cascade Terrace Drive, according to Officer Mark Reckert, a spokesman for the Ballwin Police Department.
Around 12:30pm Monday, Ballwin Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a woman accused of brandishing a gun earlier that day. The woman didn’t stop and sped away. Reckert said the officers did not follow her.
Another Ballwin officer saw the vehicle around 1:30 p.m. and tried again to stop the driver. The woman did not enter and pointed a gun at a responding St. Louis County police officer.
Reckert said the woman drove to a house on Cascade Terrace but began firing at a police force who were following her.
At least one Ballwin officer returned fire. No injuries were reported.
The woman is said to have barricaded herself in a house.
This is an evolving story. FOX 2 will have more information as it becomes available.
