Planning fun events with your loved ones for your birthday is meant to be an exciting time. Regardless of the activities involved, it’s an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate friendship and family, hopefully getting a little party going in the process.
However, a TikToker reminds people that the price of dinner should be reasonable not be a birthday surprise.
Janae (@janae_69) was invited to a birthday party by her “rich friend” and subsequently shared the menu with her viewers after being blown away by how much she was willing to pay for a meal.
“Baby, these are the prices,” she says while someone laughs hysterically in the background. “I thought that’s how many calories the meal had.”

The restaurant in question, Prhyme, which appears to be a steakhouse in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, starts at $43 with 6-ounce fillets, offers salmon or pork chops for just a few dollars less, and has chicken at $34.
His website boasts “an upscale and modern take on American steakhouse,” and while fine dining prices aren’t unusual, anyone who’s ever hooked up with wealthier friends knows how quickly those bills can add up — and how unnerving — it can get annoying when a guest didn’t plan on spending that much money on a single meal. That’s probably why Janae’s video resonated with so many viewers, racking up almost 4 million views in the week since it was uploaded.
“I would have retired from the table,” one person commented, while another said they would only order “accessories” from that menu.
“Any restaurant that Pages calls ‘accessories’ is out of my tax bracket,” explained @mychelehughes.
Janae later responded to critics who claimed the prices weren’t that high for what they were.
“Baby, if I say it’s too damn expensive for me, it’s too damn expensive,” she says in a later video. “I don’t give a fuck if you can afford a $90 or $100 steak.”
The Daily Dot reached Janae via TikTok comment.
