A man tells workers to “get what they deserve” before they quit

There have been major changes in the American workforce since the pandemic began. In the past two years, about a third of Americans have changed jobs, according to PBS, with many choosing to change their position or field entirely during the process.

But that also presented many Americans with a problem: How can you stage the exit from the current role?

Now, a user on TikTok has sparked a discussion with his advice: “Get everything you deserve before you head out.”

In a video with over 106,000 views, TikTok user Antrell sets up a scenario where he says “all [his] PTO then ends the day that year-end bonuses come out.

The Daily Dot contacted Antrell via email. In the comments, many users shared their plans to do the exact same thing.

“That’s my plan,” claimed one user. “Maximized my PTO and got my cancellation email scheduled.”

“That’s my plan. My job is fine, but I don’t enjoy my work,” said another user. “I’ve already got my PTO on for next year and I’ll pick it up and go.”

“I would ask weeks in advance if they knew when the quarterly bonuses were coming out so I could cancel accordingly,” claimed a third.

Other users offered their own advice.

“Just make sure it’s after payroll. Not that they should take it away from you,” advised one commenter.

However, some users said that this is not possible in their job.

“Must be good! My current company isn’t making any raises or bonuses until March and it’s not looking too good this year,” wrote one user.

“Sameeee, my company stock is transferring and my bonus is in March,” replied a second. “Three months to go, sis, we’ve got this.”

For those worried about Antrell’s future career, he has positive news: according to a comment, he has already found new employment.
