A forgotten war film full of future stars returns to the front lines via streaming

It’s always a delight for fans when they stumble upon an overlooked or forgotten film whose cast was destined for something much bigger and better, even though no one could have predicted it at the time. Many people may not have heard of the 1999 British war drama The ditchbut several members of the ensemble are now highly recognizable faces in their own right.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t apply to the best-billed Paul Nicholls, who remains almost entirely unknown outside of his native Britain, while the same could probably be said with great authority about co-star Danny Dyer, who has at least made himself in British film – and television world created a niche.
